Depositing Money at a Poker Room.When you have your screen name the poker site will most likely ask you to deposit funds. You should skip this and go on to play-money games. The reason being you need to practise first and why loose interest on your money when it can be in your bank. We will learn more about play-money games in the next section. However, at some point you will decide that you are ready to play for real money and will need to add funds to your account. This is a fairly simple task and you will have various methods to do this and is totally up to you. The most common method is paying by credit or bank card. Some banks/credit card companies block transactions to and from gambling sites. An alternative is to use paypal or Neteller (owned by ebay). Also many sites of sign-up bonuses (see our list of sites with offers). Generally these work by the site adding extra funds to your account once you’ve played a certain number of raked hands. This is one of the reasons if you are playing poker to make money you should join a number of sites you take advantage of these sign-up bonuses.
